About This Spot

Nestled on Main Street in the small mountain town of Walden, Four Winds Pizza feels like a quiet pause amid the wide-open Colorado landscape. The moment you step inside, the pace slows down—there’s a gentle warmth not just from the wood-fired oven but from the friendly presence of the folks who run it. It’s the sort of place where the familiar hum of conversation blends with the faint scent of melting cheese and rustic herbs, creating an atmosphere that invites both a quick stop on a road trip and a lingering meal to savor the local rhythm.

This is a casual local eatery, the kind where you can stumble upon uniquely satisfying moments—a perfectly charred crust, a sandwich crafted with care, or a scoop of butter pecan ice cream to gently sweeten the experience. The dining area is unpretentious and inviting, with subtle nods to the town’s history woven into the décor, like wagon wheel engravings that quietly tell their own stories alongside yours.

Beyond the food, Four Winds offers unexpected discoveries. It’s more than a place to eat—on a few shelves nearby, you might spot a selection of books or antique finds, each one chosen to spark curiosity and connection. The people you meet here mirror the authenticity of the surroundings: warm, genuine, and happy to share a moment whether you’re a local or a visitor passing through.

Four Winds Pizza doesn’t rush the day. It invites you to sit back, catch your breath, and enjoy a meal that feels both rooted in place and quietly adventurous. It’s a small town treasure where simple ingredients and human kindness come together, making every visit feel like a modest celebration of good food and good company.

Pizza was great. We bought a few things from the antique section as well, and were more than helpful packaging everything up.

We stopped in on the way back from a wedding and had some very lovely sandwiches for the road. The staff member and we are guessing the owner were fun and very pleasant to be around. I would a stop her again.

Lonely as a pie! As silent as it may seem, the gold rush is in the pie. Tucked away between the valley of mountain ranges, this little dive has wagon wheel engravings along side the town’s history of a stapler good eats. Cheese burger cheese burger was my choice, different and delicious. Absolutely flavorful without the bun. Beautifully charred cheese topped with everything else locked in underneath it. As the sign behind the counter reads, this isn’t fast food! You want the good stuff? Then be patient and wait for it because she certainly makes a good pie.

The pizza here is VERY good! The staff is nice! This and the BBQ place are the best places in Walden hands down! They also sell books and some other things.

I’ve still to try the food because I always seem to arrive late. The service is amazing tho. The owner is super kind and a little too talkative for my tastes, but still she does her best to make you feel welcome. This gem of a small business should be frequented more and is a staple of Jackson county. Stop by and say hi, they love visitors. I’d call it hipster heaven but I’m too old to be cool anymore. Can’t wait to go back for pizza!
